Program Overview
The Dental Assisting level I and II program will prepare the student to provide assistance in a general practice or specialized oral health care setting. This course will be offered at our school with state of the art facilities to provide students with adequate practice needed to perform effectively in real life situations. We have modern equipment and expert tutors to provide students with the best learning experience. This program includes extensive practical experience working with instructors and undergoing field training.
Course Content
As a dental assisting student, you will learn core areas of oral health care to prepare you for a fulfilling career. You will cover the following aspects in the program:
- How to handle dental emergencies
- General dental sciences
- Pharmacology
- Managing a dental practice
- Office skills and communication
- Clinical dental assisting procedures
- Computer skills
What are the admission requirements?
To be eligible to join this program you must have:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent or Mature Student Status
- Grade 12 English (C or U) (minimum of 60 %)
- Grade 11 or 12 Biology and Chemistry (C, M or U)
Additional admission requirements include:
- Immunization Record (MEASLES MUMPS, RUBELLA, Tetanus/diphtheria, Varicella Vaccine)
- Hepatitis B immunization
- Two-step TB tests
- Police Background Check
