APLUS Institute will soon be introducing the Dental Assisting (Level I and II) program. This 42-week Intra Oral Level I & II Dental Assistant Diploma Program is designed to equip learners with the skill, technical knowhow and clinical experience required to perform as a dental assistant. Learners will be well equipped to work as part of an oral health-care team and acquire the skills needed in different areas such as orthodontics, endodontics and public health dental clinics. Upon completion of the program, a student will be well prepared to complete the National Dental Assisting Examination Board (NDAEB) exam and become a registered dental assistant.
The Dental Assisting level I and II program will prepare the student to provide assistance in a general practice or specialized oral health care setting. This course will be offered at our school with state of the art facilities to provide students with adequate practice needed to perform effectively in real life situations. We have modern equipment and expert tutors to provide students with the best learning experience. This program includes extensive practical experience working with instructors and undergoing field training.
As a dental assisting student, you will learn core areas of oral health care to prepare you for a fulfilling career. You will cover the following aspects in the program:
- How to handle dental emergencies
- General dental sciences
- Managing a dental practice
- Office skills and communication
- Clinical dental assisting procedures
- Computer skills
What are the admission requirements?
To be eligible to join this program you must have:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent or Mature Student Status
- Grade 12 English (C or U) (minimum of 60 %)
- Grade 11 or 12 Biology and Chemistry (C, M or U)
Additional admission requirements include:
- Immunization Record (MEASLES MUMPS, RUBELLA, Tetanus/diphtheria, Varicella Vaccine)
- Hepatitis B immunization
- Two-step TB tests
- Police Background Check
